Rygen: 60' 2.09, 1/4 13.2
scrming: 60' 2.06, 1/4 13.4
Excellent times! Looks like they are both launching without boost, as i predicted. I'll post times as I get them, with Rygen's blessing. :action-smiley-035:

John and I have having a blast!!!!! Let me say, pictures do not do the Mistress justice!!!! John’s car simply looks amazing in real life, and every detail is addressed. She is an absolutely beautiful car.
So, here are some pics:

Our final qualifying is at 6PM EST. So, they will probably call us to stage in about 30 minutes.
Scrming is still working on perfecting his launch with the SC, as I am still trying to find the sweet spot on launching, launching at 2200 now with no spin.
More updates to come soon.

They told me the last time I was out to their shop that it is stock. I believe they have replaced the motor at least once though. They want to push the stock everything to its limits. I am thankful they are out there doing that for us. I can not afford to do it. LOL.

Sorry for not posting, track was open late...had some late night runs to watch....some cool stuff. Street legal 8 second cars..Sick!!!! Ok, I'm testing a new launch technique, where esentially I launch with 5lbs of boost from a dig. Havent quite got it down, so I slipped accross the line and ran a 13.5....but my trap speed was 106.4. I have one last run today, I will get an update out as soon as I can. Scrming is doing great, consistently hitting his dialin time.
Oh, and Jimp was right. We havent been launching with boost, which is why we have 2.0x 60ft times. I'm working to change that.

Well I returned from Norwalk late last night. It was nice the meet scrming and rygen. It was a beautiful day. I am stupid, drove out in shorts so I could not race in the true street, some day I will learn. I watch them both make a time trial and was not paying attention at first so I did not get a photo of scrming. They both made impressive runs. There were 3 or 4 true street cars running in the 8's:holyshit: , unbelievable. Many were running in the 10's, very impressive. One car not in true street I can not remember what class he was running ran in the 6's at over 200 mph. There was also a car show with some very cars, mostly Mustnags but there were some other old Fords. So here are some photos from the day. Check out the on engine compartment on the red car, it was from Canada. That is the nicest engine I have ever seen at a car show.

WOW!!! What a weekend!!! Was great to meet Rygen!!! And Nav!!!
Thanks, Rygen for all the posts during the weekend!!! Love the pics!!!
Ok.. i am wiped out... but bottom line (with more to come later!)...
The Mistress is a 13.4 second car... 13.5 when it's really hot out! While not as fast as the Zex setup, it is incredibly consistent!!! The Vortech worked great... mid-13's with basically the stock HO kit with a 300+ pound driver!!! Weahter was upper 80's! Down on the track it was even hotter! Again, while the Zex produced a better ET, I feel the Vortech is a better setup and the consistent results would make this a great bracket car! LOL! As a matter of fact... I acutally made it to the semi-finals today!!!! (3rd round) So I got half my entry fee back!!!

Congrats on making the semis! Rygen said you were driving pretty good.
Excellent results! 'Bout time we get to see some "real" Vortech numbers.
You gotta give the Vortech credit for Scrmings 300Lbs... Thats atleast 2 tenths, maybe 3.. Maybe someone can lookup the weight vs. ET aspect..
I think Scrming did a great job with the bone stock kit.. Nice job Scrming!:action-smiley-035:
Lideo is said to be real lightweight.. I bet he could have taken it to 12.9 or 13.0..
The real story here is Scrming made it to the semi-finals, and got back $50 bucks!! That in itself says alot about the Vortechs abilities while handicapped by driver weight..
In reality a an average guy is about 180 to 200Lbs.. So your probably talking about an extra .1 or .2 for wieght.. Plus the car is an automatic.. So all in all, its a damn good consistent performer!
I am really impressed with the PH Turbo! 106MPH trap speeds!!
Here is a quick sample of wieght..
The bottom line, though, is the issue of performance. Let's pretend that we have a middle-of-the-road Footbrake bracket racing car. It runs 11.8s at 111 mph. The car is a typical converted street car, it's not a flyweight, and it tips the scales at 3,850 pounds with you in it. A power-speed calculation reveals that the engine produces in the range of 405 horsepower, which is responsible for the 11-second passes. If the car is placed on a diet and loses 350 pounds, using the same horsepower figures, the e.t. slip drops to an 11.45 at more than 114 mph. To match that e.t. by adding horsepower, you'll have to find between 40 and 50 horsepower. But many times, adding power sacrifices reliability.
So it looks like its .1 for every 100lbs.. and .01 for every 10lbs..
So if Scrming was 100lbs lighter, the best he could have done would have been 13.3ET on the stock 10psi kit.. The reduction of weight also adds trapspeed as well.. One way of dealing with it is upping the boost to compensate.. I think Scrming would do really good with the 2.87in pulley..

Thanks Nav, great pics!!!!!!!!!
Yea, Scrming and I discussed weight to compare our ET's, so with my 230lbs, my 13.2 runs were like his 13.3 runs, so based on this, we were very close. Though Scrming RT's are very good when hes on top of his game. Definitely a better driver than me.
All in all it was a blast to hang out with him and to be racing in the same event. One thing I can honestly say, the Mistress was the best looking S197 there hands down. You have to see this car in real life to truly appreciate it.

Great Run Guys!! I'm sure you must have made a whole lot of V6 and V8 Guys stand up and take notice. Excellent Show! Can't wait to see some more of those pic's and vid's. Rygen your car looks beautiful going down the strip with that red strip down the middle, and screamin - well , you know I'm partial to yellow's ;) Didi they insist on Fire Jackets?
You guys must be exhausted! I was the next day at the track - and that was just half a day and 2 hours away. You guys are Hardcore!! :action-smiley-035: See alot of Magazine photographers there - MMFF, MM, 5.0 etc...?
Nav - I know what you mean about the shorts - lol. My buddy did the same thing last time at the track - bummer
:action-smiley-054: I was at the track with the Vortech 2 weeks ago... We now have 2 Vortechs that have taken it to the track. With the automatic (tranny), 2.87 pulley, ( mid 80's temp/humidity ), Stock Tires (horrible launch and 60'), Stock Suspension, and Street Tune ( didn't use the track tune ) it put down 13.4 seconds. I was able to improve my times ( 4 runs in order - 13.7, 13.5, 13.5, and 13.4) by controlling the wheel spin a bit in the launch - but it was still impossible with the stock setup .... Also my ass is only 145 lbs - Just like Jeff Gordon ;) LOL
