Hey all,
I was looking at my car today, and realized, I got like a 4x4 stance going on! I have the stock 19s, but still a decent amount of room on the back, I really don't want to go like 2 inches. I Was wondering who all has springs and how much of the drop would be.
I have seen the Ford Racing performance springs, 1 inch all the way around, and have heard that some people just did the rear to even it out.

My car was lowered 1" all the way around with H&R springs. It looked good and handled maybe a little better. I then put on Ford "K" springs 1.5" all the way around. I added a adj ph bar, STrTs shocks and struts. I run 20" wheels. The car is low. I love the way it looks and handles much better than with the 1" and stock struts shocks, the rear is much better planted on bumps in the corners.

If it's a daily driver don't lower it very much at all, it looks better lowered but it ruins the ride IMO. At least in the S197 it does, I guess it depends on the application though.

Not sure of the chassis adjustments on the +10 but, it sure does make a difference. Smoother more stable. My 11 handles and rides much better than my 06. The 11 is 1.5" lower and my 06 was 1" lower. But my 06 had the stock dampers and my 11 has upgraded ones.

Well like I said, I have done the Sportline drop on my '05, it looked great! BUT it wasn't practical for Daily Driving, I had to watch out for every speed bump/steep driveway, dips, pot holes, etc. I had to raise it to a 1.5 drop, which still looked good, but I could at least go over speed bumps more.

I've got the Pro Kit on mine, 1" all the way around, with 275/35-19's. It's low enough for me most of the time, and the ride is at least as good as stock, maybe just slightly firmer.

I've got the Pro kit on my 06 and it made it handle better but the ride quality really suffered. It does look great though, and not being a DD I can cope with the ride. Of course I do have the Tokico D specs set firm and the Hellwig rear syay set for firm also. But I did notice the ride quality go way down when I installed the springs, and they went on before any of the other suspension mods.Basically every suspension mod made it handle better but ride worse, so again, it depends on the application.

I'm going to leave my car at the stock ride height. It carves corners well enough for my driving skill and I am primarily concerned with how it launches at the drag strip. If I can improve any area of performance in my car it would be with the brakes.

Yeah, the ride definitely will suffer a when lowering a car. No doubt about that. However, like everyone else has said, since mine isn't a DD, I can live with it when I drive it once or twice a week. The handling is drastically improved and the stance is "stop-and-stare" awesome! I love it!

At the moment, I'm thinking the same thing for my 2012. I REALLY like comfortable ride, and I'm not ready to sacrifice the ride quality in my DD. I also have concerns with the front spoiler in the GTCS package, which barely clears the slope of my driveway at the curb. I'm afraid dropping the car will cause it to scrape every time I come in or out of my driveway.

...and put 5/16" spacers on the rear 19" wheels to push them out slightly.

So much for that idea! Although the rear wheels looked MUCH better with the spacers, there wasn't enough thread contact with the lug nuts to be safe.

Really? is there any hub differences between the wheels. I had the basic 5 spoke 18" wheel? I never had an issue with not enough stud exposed.

Dale, there must be a slight difference in the wheels, because I only got about two full turns of the lugs with the spacers - not enough IMO.

2 turns is not enough, that could be death!!
