Well I did my first mod today. I removed the air silencer that plops down out of the stock airbox.

I also have a question for you guys(and gals). I love the way SLP exhaust sounds on a v8 but I can't really justify spending around $450 for a catback exhaust system(especially around christmas time). What do you all think about just welding in some dynomax resonators where the stock mufflers are? The dynomax resonators are $36.00 EA, 16" overall length, and ceramic packed exactly like SLP resonators. The only real difference I can see is that the SLP's are 18" long and the dynomax 16".

By doing this I can still add an offroad x or h later on as well.

opinions?

For the price of the dynomax resonators you probably can not go wrong trying it. If it does not sound good you could always put it back to stock. It sure is taking you no time to start modding this car huh. LOL.

The only thing I REALLY want to mod right away is the exhaust. the 99-04 GT's just sound so awesome with aftermarket exhaust.

For that price, I would definetely be trying the resonators first.

You should just get flowmasters and an O/R h-pipe. I know a guy with that setup and his sounds pretty mean...LOUD too.
