I will keep detailed info in this thread about the swap, comments and advice is welcome. Hopefully we can all benefit from the info.
I have just finalized a deal from a complete 05 4.6l, with 24k miles. This includes Engine, wiring harness, transmission and ECU.
This is a Automatic setup…… Yeah I know….Why???
Well the price was good enough for me to buy, have FORD flash the ECU ($90) and for me to order a takeoff rear axle and transmission from diversified and still ahead of the other prices. Also I’ll have a GT auto for sale to recoup some cash.
some pics....
Better pictures will be posted as soon as it arrives, in a few days.
For now I am looking for a stock GT air plastic duct from the TB to the air box (I still have the stock v6 box).
If you or someone you know is looking for an auto transmission I’ll have one available very soon…..
Why not just go with an aftermarket CAI instead of the stock airbox? I mean, if it's already missing the tubing, you might as well just get a JLT intake or something like that. :)

Thanks Steve I just need the actual tube to airbox. I need to buy one to revert back to 100% stock whenever I need to pass an inspection.
I will connect the turbo, but I have to make it run stock stock first, and get it thru emissions control before I connect the turbo back up, so a CAI would be wasted money for me.
I plan on running catless after the emissions inspection...

I have to keep cost down as much as possible and I don't think headers performance justify their price. I will get them on part II of the swap when I replace the rotating assy for a complete forged internal install.
