T5 To TR3650 - TR6060 Swap Update
I removed my transmission today and now have a better idea of what we are up against. The starter was my main concern and now that I can see how the back of the 4.0 engine is setup the starter will most definitely have to stay in the stock location. The good news is the bell housings on the TR3650 and TR6060 are much larger in diameter so we may not need to clearance them for the starter to fit where it has to be or maybe just a very little bit. I don't know for sure until I dig a little deeper. Also am not sure yet if the stock exhaust will fit around the larger bell housing. It will be close for sure but the cats are already right up to the body so I am thinking they will fit as is.
Anyway, I made some progress today and will be taking vital measurements tomorrow so I can do a mockup of the adapter plate to see how things really look.
Stay tuned for the next update.
