if we could see total honesty out of some people i promise there are tons of x chrarged guys that would not do it again, or if i knew then what i know now kinda thing. heck i was that same way with the vortech. i loved it, yes but i wished i had saved up a little more and got a turbo. you cant say that there are 120 happy x guys, because the ones that arnt just wont say it. and it put it into an anolog for ya, how i see it... i got to best buy, their some what knoledgable tech talk me into buying a computer. now i know a little about computers so i see thru his sales pitch, but after some conversation i decide that i'm getting a pretty good deal. ok cool. then i get it home play with it its pretty awesome cool then next day i go to office depot for some school suplies and see they have had a computer with much better specs for the same price i just paid for the other one, and this one is upgradeable, but it dont have the pretty light up case tho. not at that point i would feel like i got jipped. was it my fault for not researching yes, the sales guy for doing his job well, no not his fault. best buy did a ton of advertising to attract me to there store.
so with this debate and as i have seen so much in the past in these type of threads, the shear volume of x guy who push it on here give a false illutsion of whats going on and other kits get drown out. if you'll notice most if not all of the x users baught them as they were noobs to the 4.0, no one who has spent any time in the 4.0 game, and has seen whats going on with all the differnt kits, get the xcharger. every noob comes on here, dont know snot about the cars first thing they say they want...is an xcharger. heck look at my first thread when i came on three two years ago.
sorry for the book sorry for starting another war but i just felt like i needed to do my part in shedding some light on whats going on here and maybe save some one from being secretly unhappy about their purchase because they didnt know better and wernt told the differences between the kits.

i am glad something was said. as much as i love the x i believe they are over rated as hell. im going to leave it at that. great kit for a simple fun DD, great torque for autocross but its no et hunter/strip killer.

even that statement is messed up, it should read, it ok for DD, and ok torque for autocross, but it not for people who want to add nice amounts of power there car.
oh and that sig is sick

or use the search feature... pretty sure it's been covered before... but it's been a while since the subject came up... I was reviewing some of the old threads... woohoo! Now that's entertaining!
If I had the way back machine...
or i knew then, what I know now... I would have definitely gone turbo! The Vortech was fun and I have to admit the way people turned and stared as I idled through the car shows was priceless... but I still should have held out for the turbo... Now I know better... LOL

and also the ones who didnt like the X just offered it up for sale.. Be honest.. how many have gotten a great used deal on some kind of FI due to someone not doing the right amount of research?
And i have seen a few people who wrecked their X 4.0 and then went a different route... ETC ETC ETC
Im not trying to get into the middle of a somehwat calmed down debate.. i just see where Jeremy, Cam and even Gaylon are coming from.. If i would have been on the forums before i SC'ed my car.. i probably would have gone X.. but i went with a shop who talked me into a Vortech.. then decided to not push or carry vortech and attempt to get me to a Paxton... Its all who you talk to and what they talk u into

AH, Eric does make an interesting and GOOD POINT: For newbies, it is VERY EASY to get talked into something from a shop or performance guy doing the work. I almost got sucked into something like that, too, but luckilly stuck with my guns, slowed down, did more research, and came to my own decisions. It was regarding an F/I setup or two, one quite different than what I have now, another moderately different.
Moral: take your time, do your research, do listen to what installers have to say, but in the end, make your own decisions on what you want done to YOUR car!!!

Well again I totally disagree with your point of view. If there were "Tons of X-Charger guys" that are dissatisfied we would be hearing about it on these and other forums. Most car enthusiast are not quite little lambs afraid to speak up. Hell we hear about every little thing that displeasures people about virtually everything about there Mustangs. No one is holding back secretly in sham because they have an X-Charger. Again total BS.
Not everyone is "Noobs" here either. I was building and racing hot rods before a lot of you were even sperm! I did a lot of research before going with an X-Charger and fully realized that it was not going to make the highest numbers and like others am pleased as hell with the results for the application I am using it for. Trying to convince people that they need the absoultly most powerful system out that is like the stereo shop convincing a kid he needs the biggest most expensive speakers to listen to a radio station. So as you so well put it I am also "doing my part in shedding some light on what's going" in not recommending the most expensive highest output system for all purposes.
Simply because a system makes higher horse power and torque so will win in a drag race is not necessarily what everyone is looking for. You and quite a few people on this forum are die hard drag racers. There are actually a lot more people on this forum that are not. I will guarantee you they far out number die hard drag racers. I read all the time of the kid in college that just wants some more fun factor for a reasonable price and may only hit the drag strip once or twice a year if at all. The current X-Charger is more then a thousand dollars cheaper then the PH Turbo or HI-PO Intercooled Vortech and will deliver on the fun factor as is. Sure the Intercooled version of the X-Charger will cost about the same and will ultimately equal the HI-PO Vortech and maybe even surpass it when the R1900 version comes out and at that time people that want more power will have another good choice besides a Vortech.
My point is a lot of people would rather save $1000 and have a lot more fun factor which the X-Charger delivers on handily. Even at the lower level or performance on an Autocross or open track or even the street if one is so inclined the X-Charge will allow the V6 to outperforms stock GTs as I consistently do on the tracks. For me and most of the guys running an X-Charger the fun factor on a well designed easy to install relatively inexpensive system is more important then having the fastest drag race car on the block.

No problemo, you guys have been tons of help to me. Even though i know the x-charger would be a little more fun dd, I think Ill go with the vortech cause it'll get me the times I want and should be fun on the top end. I still got about a month before i order so I still be doing research on all 3 of the major F.I. kits out there.
P.S. Some times its good to have a debate, as long as it stays nice.
