Rear Trunk Badge Removal - 10-01-2009

I want to take off the huge freakin badge with thepony that is on the rear of my trunk? Is this just stuck on or are there bolts holding it on and holes underneath? I know its different than the 09's and under so I'm hoping it will just remove nice and easy...

It's just stuck on with double-side like 3m tape. Here in Florida, when it's hot out, you can pull it right off with your fingers. There is 2 aligning pins on the backside of the emblem that line up with holes on the trunk.

+1, what he said. It's just held on with 3M double sided tape. when I removed mine I just got it pried up with a pick in the keyhole and it just pulled off from there.

Wait... it can just be pried off? So like on a hot day can some punk kid just walk up to it and steal it off my car? Now I'm paranoid.

Pretty much everything on these cars and all cars now adays is just held on by tape. How do you think people debadge vehicles so easily. It's no big deal really.

I agree, people just can't be happy with their own stuff, they have to wreck someone else's stuff....sucks....hate it.

Yup, I also have a 2010....Stuck on with the pin guide holes. But why do you want it off? It looks good (well to me it does...).

He probably wants to take it off cause some people now are on the "debadging" kick. Everybody wants to debadge their vehicle. I really don't get it, but to each their own. When I look at a car I like the contrast between the black plastics, the chrome badges, and the color of the vehicle. The contrast allows some colors to really stand out. For example I had a 91 Honda Accord. It had what I thought was a nice balance between the black trim and the color, mine was dark red. Well, the next incarnation they took away a lot of the trim, and even more in the next. The point is that as more stuff was taken away and more of the car was painted red, the red stood out less and less. Eventually the red became bland looking. You need contrast to trick your eyes into making the rest of the vehicle stand out more. That's just my take on it.
