Cheap Nasty Bosch Platinum plug.....

I gapped those to 0.54 and installed then..... as soon as I fire the car there is a miss....Immediately...

When I replaced the Bosch with the Ngk's I found that two of the Bosch's plugs gaps where almost closed...... like 0.10....WTF I am positive I gapped then correctly.....so those cheap pieces of crap ........

Anyways, all better now!! she's running great......now just to wait for the SC to be repaired......

I feel your pain bro. That's WHY I always go 'GAPLESS' plugs; the gapless ones for our cars are: E3, Bosch Platinum +4 (Must be the +4's), and Brisk.

Gapless plugs aren't always an option with F/I cars. THe gaps often have to be closed somewhat from stock for reliable ignition under boost.

The +4's, E3's and Brisks are. However, Torch_Vert is right... with some plugs you have to "narrow the gap" so that the boost doesn't 'blow out' the spark.

if you plan on running boost on those you have to close up the gap ...at least to .30 -.25 somewhere in that range.

Funny, I've had problems with Bosch stuff in the past, too. I had an old 1995 Chevy Lumina that needed a plug/wire change bad. Changed everything out and it ran like ass. Changed the fancy Bosch +4s I got with a set of plain old copper-cored plugs. Still ran crappy.

Come to find out one of the new Bosch wires were bad....

Bosch sucks for domestic cars in general. NGK's are ok but were designed for use on japanese cars. For those of you that don't believe me I have seen a nissan sentra that will NOT run with bosch plugs at all (brand new) but with NGK's (brand new) it ran perfectly fine. It was a lesson in school and i was completely dumbfounded. Don't ask to explain why.. it just did.

I rely on are either motorcraft (obv. for fords) or denso iridiums $$$.

High five on the easy fix!
