Flapjack's Project - 4.0L to 5.4L?

I'm really considering several options, but I'm leaning towards the 5.4L. If you have input, I'd appreciate it being posted in the Modular forums, since I'm asking the big gearheads over there for help in planning this.

I briefly considered trying to get my hands on a used GT, but I like my car too damn much to sell it. I'd rather do the swap.

I'll be sad to give up the 4.0, but I'm really excited about doing something like this. I know someone has already put a GT500 5.4L in a V6, but what I'm talking about is much different, as I'll be starting with a Triton 5.4L with no blower.... just a normal intake waiting to be fed by either a turbo or my current D1SC (that decision's still up in the air as well).

Any inputs, thoughts, or "you're freaking crazy" comments are welcome!!

I think that's a marvelous Idea! If you put the triton in, surely you would have to strengthen everything else. Gonna be costly, but it'll be nice. Keep the V6 exterior too.... Haha a true sleeper.

That's the plan. As I've already replaced pretty much the entire driveline, I'd probably only have to swap the stock 8.8" LSD for something stronger, then switch to better engine mounts.

I think I'll also have to do something to the front end. Not sure where I heard that... but maybe someone else can chime in. Not sure about the k-member, either....

finally dropped it to the public ehh.. dont get rid of your motor.. LOL>..... sell it .. im sure some of us could use the extra pieces from it.

Yeah. I figured it was about time I let the Collective in on my little plan.

I won't just get rid of it, don't worry. If I go turbo, I'll probably sell the engine with heads, cams and blower as a package.

This is not something that's going to happen tomorrow, anyway. I'll need to carefully plan this to minimize downtime.

Sounds like a cool idea. Wow, you're going to probably have a bunch of obstacles to overcome though.

i woulda been happy with the 440 RWHP V6, lol, but like i've always said go big or go home.

i'm still curious as how u got up to 440 RWHP, i'd be happy if I can get mine from 210 to 300+, then i'd be happy.
